“You don’t have to cross the bridge I crossed. You can turn around and repent.”
That’s the message our founder, Joey Krol, shares when he speaks at churches and events. Joey was a pastor, author, and radio host who struggled with sin.
“I worshipped at the altar of lust, pornography, and sexual immorality. I worshipped at this altar on and off throughout my life, my marriage, and my ministry.”
The stronghold of pornography led Krol down a deep, dark path. In his depravity, he sent inappropriate text messages to a teenage girl. He was arrested on October 15th, 2021. While in his jail cell, Joey repented of his sin.
“While I was in my jail cell, I cupped my hands and told the Lord: ‘I made a mess of my life. I hurt and confuse people. I tainted the pulpit. I tainted Your Name. I tainted my wedding vows. Lord, I have nothing to offer you but this pile of ash. Lord, redeem these ashes.’”
After his repentance, several trusted ministries came alongside Joey, walking with him through intensive Biblical counseling and a process of discipleship and restoration. Out of that experience, Joey developed a genuine burden for others caught in sexual sin. Today, he walks with men who have fallen or been accused, helping them face the truth, find forgiveness, and
rebuild their lives.
In 2023, Redeem These Ashes was founded as a 501C3 Ministry with a bold vision: to loosen the grip of sexual sin in our culture. The ministry is led by a committed Board of Directors and served entirely by passionate volunteers who share this calling. Together, they work to educate, equip, and restore individuals, families, and leaders — pointing them to lasting freedom in
Jesus Christ.
